Is Software Testing Difficult?
Well , there is a saying :
“The merit of all things lies in their difficulty.”
― Alexandre Dumas
Thinking naturally is the key to overcome difficulties . In that perspective I believe testing is easy if you have the below qualities :
- Always ready to learn new things
- Thinking out of box
- Good listening and grasping capability
Again this is what I think, opinions may differ.
Learning Willingness:
You need to dig in and explore the problem which may be challenging sometimes because we do not know the behavior of software. So when we try then we come up to something . We may fail but that is where we start learning and exploring new ways and methods to check and verify the software.
New Perspective Thinking
Software’s are big modules which may or may not depend on each other.So as a quality engineer we need to think big to understand how the software interacts and works when small modules are combined together in order to make it work as per the customer requirements. More questions asked , more will be the clarity and better the quality of software will be.
Listen and Grasp
You need to be little different from others and should be capable of finding things / issues which others may skip . That level of thinking will differentiate you from the crowd and you will be able to stand on the front. Paying attention to little little points will definitely help you become a better tester.
Finally if the above points are kept in mind , definitely you will be successful in overcoming the obstacles and become a good tester.
